New Life Assembly of God was founded in 1976 in Findlay, Ohio, by a small group of dedicated believers who wanted their children raised in a church in which people genuinely loved one another and rejected interpersonal politics and gossip.

At first, members of the new congregation met in one another's homes, then later at the YMCA, and finally in an old church on Crystal Avenue before constructing a new building at 535 Bright Road in 1978.

The church was led by Pastor Howard Spriggs and his wife, Marie, from 1976 to 1992. In 1992, Pastor Dutch VanderVlucht and his wife, Cindy, moved to Findlay to pastor New Life.

By the early 2000s, New Life had outgrown the Bright Road facility. In 2005, the congregation conducted a capital campaign to raise funds for construction of a larger church. Although no building site had yet been purchased, the congregation voted overwhelmingly to sell Bright Road, believing that God would provide a place for us to meet until we had a new facility.

In fact, God provided both rolled into one, in the form of Norcrest Presbyterian Church on Findlay's north side. For several months, we rented Norcrest's facility and held Sunday services at 5 pm. Then, Norcrest officials asked if we'd be interested in purchasing the facility, which we did.

As a result, New Life obtained a much larger and nicer facility than we would have been able to construct with the money we had available. We dedicated the facility at 3120 Norcrest Street in September 2006. In 2010, New Life acquired properties at 3105 Crosshill Drive and 3106 Norcrest Street, which abut church property, to use as annexes.
